The Tale of the Garbons

This story is our favorite one. We went to see a movie in Atmore. It was daylight. On Foshee Rd, Charleen started to tell us that Garbons live in the woods and they will jump on your car at the railroad stop at night. So you better hope that your car doesn’t stall. 

After movie and dinner, we were on our way home. We were in the Lincoln. Sitting upfront was Darrie who was driving, Olivia and Charleen. In the back it was Rich, Emma and I. It was dark now. We got to the railroad stop. The car “stalled”. Charleen and Darrie said that it looked like there was something moving in the woods. The wind actually blew thru the trees as Emma was leaning over Rich looking into the woods. I could not help myself.  I grabbed Emma and started screaming.  She screamed. Charleen said “They are on the car!!!!”  Darrie started the car and we drove away with Darrie driving side to side “trying” to shake off the Garbons as we were all laughing and still screaming.

To this day - we still all look around that area for Garbons.
